3 Compelling Reasons For You To Link Out To A Good Blog Post

If you have been blogging for a long time, you would have heard bloggers saying that you should link to others like loose lemon. If you are a new blogger and haven’t heard this, then hear it from me the first time “Link out to good blog posts very often”. The results you get by linking to good posts might surprise you.
1. Get the attention of the blogger author
When you link to a blog post, the author of the blog will come to know it. The result of this could be one of the following three: (i) the blog author will read your post and comment on and thereby become your blog’s subscriber, (ii) you will get a link back from the author (iii) you will be ignored. But the third case happens very rarely. If you can get the attention of an authority blogger, then you are sure to achieve something high.
2. Increase link juice
If you are linking to a lot of blog posts, many of your blog posts will be linked by other bloggers. When you get many link backs, your technorati and other stats will increase. Also the popularity for a post will increase by many folds.
3. Get high traffic
This result is the most unexpected one you will be experiencing. When you link to quality blog post, your link will appear in the pingbacks and the traffic which comes to your blog by clicking it will be high. I published a weekend links post in this blog on Sunday which had a link to Copyblogger’s post. The pingback got me more than 25 visitors in just one day. I would have got 100+ but the pingback had the heading “Weekend Links” and hence many didn’t come to my blog through that link. If it was a good post, I would have surely had 100+ visitors. But this doesn’t mean you should link only to big bloggers instead link for the best posts which deserve backlinks.
Linking to other blog posts will surely help your blog. So keep linking.
